A celebration of the third anniversary of the March 10, 2006 march for Legalization for All:

2nd Annual Conference of the March 10th Committee
The March 10th Committee invites you to discuss and develop ideas for building unity among grassroots movements in Chicago working for immigrant +worker rights. The immigrant struggle is everyONE’s struggle. EveryONE’s struggle is an immigrant struggle.
March 10th, 2006, gave birth to a mass mobilization for the legalization of the twelve million undocumented workers in the United Sates. After three years, neither Congress nor the White House has solved the plight of millions of working families, but to the contrary they have filled their lives with uncertainty. Now, and after a decade of neoliberal policies that have taken the world to the edge of economic collapse, the uncertainty has spread to all the home of this country’s working folks. In response, The U.S. people stopped the political rule of the right, overwhelmingly voting for an alternative of change. In search of that change, immigrants are preparing once again to march this May Day in demand of justice and equality for all. With this purpose, the March 10th Committee invites everyone to a conference dedicated to discuss and elaborate ideas for the next steps in the fight for social justice, building unity between immigrant and native born workers. .PROGRAM. SATURDAY MARCH 7. 2009Azteca Mall9 AM:(and all day) Workshops, forums and panels: General Assembly of Workers (See Below) * the economic crisis * labor struggles today *students and youth mobilization * the fight against budget cuts in healthcare, education y and housing * racism and repression against immigrants and other minorities * the war * immigration and labor laws reform * the struggle to end raids and deportations * and more. 6 PM: Plenary (with the report back from the sessions during the day): The next steps and May Day. 8 PM: Commemoration of the Women’s International Day.

Segunda Conferencia anual del Comité 10 de Marzo
Marzo 10 del 2006 dio comienzo a una gran movilización por la legalización de los doce millones de trabajadores indocumentados en Estados Unidos. Pero después de tres años, ni el Congreso ni la Casa Blanca han resuelto la angustia de millones de familias obreras, mas al contrario han llenado su vida de incertidumbre. Ahora, y luego de que décadas de políticas neoliberales acarrearan el mundo al abismo del colapso económico, la incertidumbre se ha extendido a todos los hogares de la gente trabajadora de este país. En respuesta, el pueblo estadounidense detuvo el reinado político de la derecha, votando abrumadoramente por una alternativa de cambio. En busca de ese cambio, los inmigrantes nos preparamos una vez más para marchar este Primero de Mayo en demanda de igualdad y justicia para todos. Con este propósito el Comité 10 de Marzo invita a todos a una conferencia dedicada a discutir y elaborar ideas para los próximos pasos en la lucha por la justicia social, construyendo lazos de unidad entre trabajadores inmigrantes y nativos.
Programa: Sábado 7 de Marzo (en el Azteca Mall) 9 AM: (y por todo el día) Talleres, foros y paneles: Asamblea General de Trabajadores (ver abajo) * La crisis económica * las recientes luchas obreras *movilización estudiantil y juvenil * la lucha contra los recortes presupuestarios en la salud, educación y vivienda * el racismo y la represión contra los inmigrantes y otras minorías * la guerra * la reforma migratoria y de las leyes laborales * la lucha contra las redadas y deportaciones * y otros.
